What does the 3 Lions of England (found in the England World Cup football jersey) stand for?

- No Heart, No Guts, No Glory-
- Actually no one knows what the lions truly stand for. However it is believed that the first lion stands for Henry I. The second lion was added in tribute to Eleanor of Aquitaine by husband Henry II. Eleanor's family crest was a lion. The third lion is suppose to stand for Richard I (aka Richard "The Lion Hearted").
- If you get a chance you will find the Three Lions on both the Royal Standard as well as the Great Seal of England. The great Seal was already set when St. Thomas Becket was in the picture with Henry II. When Henry's grandfather came over, the lions were the symbol of the three titles..king of enland, duke of normandy, Prince of Wales.
